Self aligning imager array

A display system, comprising:

• a continuous surface display screen, comprising:
• a plurality of reference marks disposed on the continuous surface display screen;
• a first imaging module;
• a first servo system for determining placement of a first conveyed sub-image in a first given area of the continuous surface display screen, wherein at least one reference mark of the plurality of reference marks is used to determine placement of the first conveyed sub-image in the first given area;
• a second imaging module;
• and
• a second servo system for determining placement of a second conveyed sub-image in a second given area of the continuous surface display screen, wherein at least one reference mark of the plurality of reference marks is used to determine placement of the second conveyed sub-image in the second given area;
• and
• a control unit operable to:
• provide feedback signals to the first or second servo system;
• access one or more alignment tables containing data representing physical parameters associated with the continuous surface display screen;
• determine the correspondence between the determined placement of the first conveyed sub-image in the first given area of the display screen and the determined placement of the second conveyed sub-image in the second given area of the display screen;
• instruct the first imaging module to convey an image first sub-image in the first given area of the display screen based on the feedback signals received by the servo systems, data contained in the alignment tables, and the determined correspondence between the determined placement of the first conveyed sub-image in the first and second given areas of the display screen;
• and
• instruct the second imaging module to convey the image second sub-image in the second given area of the display screen based on the feedback signals received by the servo systems, data contained in the alignment tables, and the determined correspondence between the determined placement of the second conveyed sub-image in the first and second given areas of the display screen.
