Modular camera blocks for virtual reality capture

A method, comprising:

• obtaining a first image from a camera module having at least one port, each of the at least one ports being associated with an attachment position for receiving a second camera module for obtaining a second image;
• detecting a position of a second camera module at the at least one port, wherein the position of the second camera module is based on an angled surface of the first camera module;
• and
• providing, to an image processing controller, information relating to at least one of a position of the second camera module and the first image obtained by the camera module.

A computer program product comprising at least one computer-readable storage medium, the computer-readable storage medium comprising a set of instructions, which, when executed by one or more processors, cause an apparatus to at least perform:

• obtaining a first image from a camera module having at least one port, each of the at least one ports being associated with an attachment position for receiving a second camera module for obtaining a second image;
• detecting a position of a second camera module at the at least one port, wherein the position of the second camera module is based on an angled surface of the first camera module;
• and
• providing, to an image processing controller, information relating to at least one of a position of the second camera module and the first image obtained by the camera module.
