Image forming apparatus, method for controlling same, and storage medium

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory storing instructions, when executed by the processor, causing the image forming apparatus to function as:
• an input unit configured to input image data,
• a printing unit configured to print an image based on the image data input by the input unit,
• a control unit configured to perform control to, if the image forming apparatus operates in a first mode, print by the printing unit the image generated from the image data input by the input unit, and if the image forming apparatus operates in a second mode, print by the printing unit the image obtained by adding a predetermine pattern image on the image generated from the image data input by the input unit, and
• a notifying unit configured to, if the image forming apparatus operates in the second mode, notify a user that the second mode is set in response to selection of a function capable of printing by the printing unit.

A method for controlling an image forming apparatus including a printing unit configured to print an image, the method comprising:

• inputting image data;
• printing the image based on the image data input in the inputting;
• performing control to, if the image forming apparatus operates in a first mode, print by the printing unit the image generated from the image data input by the inputting, and if the image forming apparatus operates in a second mode, print by the printing unit an image obtained by adding a predetermined image to the image generated from the image data input by the inputting;
• and
• accepting, if the image forming apparatus operates in the second mode, selection regarding whether to print the image in the second mode in response to acceptance of operation to start printing the image.

A storage medium storing a program for executing a method for controlling an image forming apparatus including a printing unit configured to print an image, the method comprising:

• inputting image data;
• printing the image based on the image data input in the inputting;
• performing control to, if the image forming apparatus operates in a first mode, print by the printing unit the image generated from the image data input by the inputting, and if the image forming apparatus operates in a second mode, print by the printing unit an image obtained by adding a predetermined image to the image generated from the image data input by the inputting;
• and
• accepting, if the image forming apparatus operates in the second mode, selection regarding whether to print the image in the second mode in response to operation performed to start printing the image.
