Abstract
Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device that can be configured to acquire a string, convert the string to an image, compare the image of the string to an image of a test string, and determine a similarity score. The similarity score provides an indication as to how visually similar the string is to the test string. In an example, the string is part of an attempt to spoof the test string.

At least one computer-readable medium comprising one or more instructions that when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
- acquire a string;
- convert the string to an image;
- compare the image of the string to an image of a test string;
- and
- determine a similarity score, wherein the similarity score provides an indication as to how visually similar the string is to the test string.
An apparatus comprising:
- a processor;
- memory;
- and
- a string similarity engine to:
- acquire a string;
- convert the string to an image;
- compare the image of the string to an image of a test string;
- and
- determine a similarity score, wherein the similarity score provides an indication as to how visually similar the string is to the test string.
A method comprising:
- acquiring a string;
- converting the string to an image;
- comparing the image of the string to an image of a test string;
- and
- determining a similarity score, wherein the similarity score provides an indication as to how visually similar the string is to the test string.
A system for determining a string similarity score, the system comprising:
- a processor;
- memory;
- a string to image engine to convert an acquired string into an image;
- and
- a string similarity engine to:
- compare the image of the string to an image of a test string;
- and
- determine a similarity score, wherein the similarity score provides an indication as to how visually similar the string is to the test string.
