Abstract
A control apparatus includes a controller configured to instruct an image pickup apparatus that includes an image pickup element configured to capture an image formed by an optical system to capture a plurality of images in different polarization directions, and to obtain polarization information based on the plurality of images. The controller instructs the image pickup apparatus to capture the plurality of images on exposure conditions different from one another while setting constant an F-number of the optical system.

A control apparatus comprising a controller configured to instruct an image pickup apparatus that includes an image pickup element configured to capture an image formed by an optical system to capture a plurality of images in different polarization directions, and to obtain polarization information based on the plurality of images,
- wherein the controller instructs the image pickup apparatus to capture the plurality of images on exposure conditions different from one another while setting constant an F-number of the optical system.
An image pickup apparatus comprising:
- an image pickup element configured to capture an image formed by an optical system;
- and
- a controller configured to instruct the image pickup apparatus to capture a plurality of images in different polarization directions, and to obtain polarization information based on the plurality of images,
- wherein the controller instructs the image pickup apparatus to capture the plurality of images on exposure conditions different from one another while setting constant an F-number of the optical system.
An image pickup control method comprising the steps of:
- setting a different exposure condition for each polarization direction while maintaining an F-number of an optical system;
- obtaining an image for each set exposure condition through an image pickup apparatus that includes an image pickup element configured to capture an image formed by the optical system;
- and
- obtaining polarization information of based on a plurality of images in different polarization directions.
