A display substrate and a method of manufacturing a display substrate, the display substrate including a base substrate; a gate electrode on the base substrate; an insulation layer on the gate electrode; a source electrode and a drain electrode on the insulation layer and overlapping the gate electrode; and a pixel electrode electrically connected to the drain electrode, wherein a cavity is formed between the gate electrode and the insulation layer.

A display substrate, comprising:
- a base substrate;
- a gate electrode on the base substrate;
- an insulation layer on the gate electrode;
- a source electrode and a drain electrode on the insulation layer and overlapping the gate electrode;
- and
- a pixel electrode electrically connected to the drain electrode,
- wherein a cavity is formed between the gate electrode and the insulation layer.

A method of manufacturing a display substrate, the method comprising:
- forming a gate electrode on a substrate;
- forming a cavity;
- forming an insulation layer on the cavity;
- forming a source electrode and a drain electrode on the insulation layer such that the source electrode and the drain electrode overlap the gate electrode;

- forming a pixel electrode that is electrically connected to the drain electrode.
