Systems and methods for preferred payments using beacons

A system, comprising:

• a wireless beacon;
• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory device storing computer-executable instructions that, in response to execution by the at least one processor, cause the system to perform operations comprising:
• detecting, using the wireless beacon, that a user device is at a particular merchant location;
• providing, to the user device, information corresponding to the merchant location;
• receiving, from the user device, user information corresponding to a user associated with the user device;
• automatically determining, based on the user information, a suggested payment instrument for use at the merchant location;
• sending information that is configured to cause the user device to present the suggested payment instrument;
• detecting that the user device is at a point-of-sale device at the merchant location;
• and
• causing a payment corresponding to a transaction of the user at the point-of-sale device to be processed using the suggested payment instrument.

A method, comprising:

• detecting, using the wireless beacon, that a user device is at a particular merchant location;
• providing, to the user device, information corresponding to the merchant location;
• receiving, from the user device, user information corresponding to a user associated with the user device;
• automatically determining, based on the user information, a suggested payment instrument for use at the merchant location;
• sending information that is configured to cause the user device to present the suggested payment instrument;
• detecting that the user device is at a point-of-sale device at the merchant location;
• and
• causing a payment corresponding to a transaction of the user at the point-of-sale device to be processed using the suggested payment instrument.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising instructions which, in response to a computer system, cause the computer system to perform a operations comprising:

• detecting, using the wireless beacon, that a user device is at a particular merchant location;
• providing, to the user device, information corresponding to the merchant location;
• receiving, from the user device, user information corresponding to a user associated with the user device;
• automatically determining, based on the user information, a suggested payment instrument for use at the merchant location;
• sending information that is configured to cause the user device to present the suggested payment instrument;
• detecting that the user device is at a point-of-sale device at the merchant location;
• and
• causing a payment corresponding to a transaction of the user at the point-of-sale device to be processed using the suggested payment instrument.
