Abstract
An image processing device includes circuitry to segment an image corresponding to input image data into a black text area including black text and a non-black text area of the image data other than the black text area, perform a first type of color correction on pixel data items in the black text area and a second type of color correction on pixel data items in the non-black text area to generate a processed image, and determine whether or not the image is a color image using the processed image. The second type of color correction is different from the first type of color correction.
Claims8
An image processing device, comprising circuitry to:
- segment an image corresponding to input image data, into a black text area including black text and a non-black text area of the image data other than the black text area;
- perform a first type of color correction on pixel data items in the black text area and a second type of color correction on pixel data items in the non-black text area to generate a processed image, the second type of color correction being different from the first type of color correction;
- and
- determine whether or not the image is a color image using the processed image.
An image forming apparatus, comprising:
- an image processing device including circuitry to:
- perform a first color correction on pixel data items constituting image data;
- determine whether or not the image is a color image using the image data after the first color correction performed on the pixel data items;
- and
- perform a second color correction that is different from the first color correction on the pixel data items constituting the image data;
- and
- an output device to output the image data after the second color correction is performed on the pixel data items using a result of a determination of whether or not the image is a color image.
A method, comprising:
- segmenting an image corresponding to input image data, into a black text area including black text and a non-black text area of the image data other than the black text area;
- performing a first type of color correction on pixel data items in the black text area and a second type of color correction on pixel data items in the non-black text area to generate a processed image, the second type of color correction being different from the first type of color correction;
- and
- determining whether or not the image is a color image using the processed image.
