Abstract
A system for automatic authentication of a user to allow access to websites and physical devices which provides tiered levels of security and defines an API protocol for exchange of authentication credentials.

A system for providing automatic user authentication, comprising:
- a user device running an authentication client;
- a database of authentication credentials, accessible by said client;
- wherein said authentication client:
- receives requests for authentication credentials;
- retrieves the requested authentication credentials from said database;
- and returns said requested authentication credentials to the requester.
