Abstract
Systems and methods for folder synchronization and offline synchronization via a mobile platform in a web-based collaboration environment are disclosed. One embodiment includes synchronizing user selected folders and/or sub-folders via the mobile platform, using portable devices including smart phones and tablets using any mobile operating system to allow offline access. Child or sub-folders of the selected folders and/or sub-folders are automatically detected and synchronized for offline access. Any change or new content detected on the client side or on the server side is also synchronized such that the selected folders and/or sub-folders on the client and server sides are up to date.
Claims21
A computer-implemented method of providing content items of cloud-based collaboration platform for offline access on a mobile device, comprising:
- generating a user interface that includes an option to allow a user for saving, at the mobile device, one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access or modification, wherein the one or more folders or sub-folders are hosted by the cloud-based collaboration platform;
- in response to receiving a selection of the one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access, downloading, from the cloud-based collaboration platform, the one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access;
- determining a synchronization status of the one or more folders or sub-folders;
- in response to identifying that the one or more folders or sub-folders has an out of date synchronization status, displaying a message indicating that an updated version of the one or more folders or sub-folders is available;
- in response to identifying that the one or more folders or sub-folders has a current synchronization status, displaying a message indicating a timestamp when the one or more folders or sub-folders was updated or downloaded;
- and
- displaying, via the user interface, multiple display settings associated with offline access.
A non-transitory machine readable storage medium encoded with instructions for offline access on a mobile device comprising a user interface that allows a user for saving one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access or modification, the instructions configured for:
- receiving, at the mobile device, a selection of one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access at the mobile device, wherein the one or more folders or sub-folders are hosted by the cloud-based collaboration platform;
- in response to receiving a selection of the one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access, downloading, from the cloud-based collaboration platform, the one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access;
- determining a synchronization status of the one or more folders or sub-folders;
- in response to identifying that the one or more folders or sub-folders has an out of date synchronization status, displaying a message indicating that an updated version of the one or more folders or sub-folders is available;
- in response to identifying that the one or more folders or sub-folders has a current synchronization status, displaying a message indicating a timestamp when the one or more folders or sub-folders was updated or downloaded;
- and
- displaying, via the user interface, multiple display settings associated with offline access.
A mobile device for providing content items of cloud-based collaboration platform for offline access on a mobile device comprising a user interface that allow a user for saving one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access or modification, the user interface configured for:
- receiving, at the mobile device, a selection of one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access at the mobile device, wherein the one or more folders or sub-folders are hosted by the cloud-based collaboration platform;
- in response to receiving a selection of the one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access, downloading, from the cloud-based collaboration platform, the one or more folders or sub-folders for offline access;
- determining a synchronization status of the one or more folders or sub-folders;
- in response to identifying that the one or more folders or sub-folders has an out of date synchronization status, displaying a message indicating that an updated version of the one or more folders or sub-folders is available;
- in response to identifying that the one or more folders or sub-folders has a current synchronization status, displaying a message indicating a timestamp when the one or more folders or sub-folders was updated or downloaded;
- and
- displaying, via the user interface, multiple display settings associated with offline access.
