Abstract
A first type of command is suspended, by a controller of a non-volatile memory device, in response to determining that a second type of command is waiting for execution. The first type of command is split into a plurality of chunks based on a computed criteria. A second type of command is executed in between execution of at least two chunks of the first type of command.
Claims24
A method, comprising:
- suspending, by a controller of a non-volatile memory device, a first type of command, in response to determining that a second type of command is waiting for execution;
- splitting the first type of command into a plurality of chunks based on a computed criteria;
- and
- executing a second type of command in between execution of at least two chunks of the first type of command.

An apparatus, comprising:
- a non-volatile memory;
- and
- a controller, wherein the controller controls the non-volatile memory, and wherein the controller is operable to:
- suspend a first type of command, in response to determining that a second type of command is waiting for execution;
- split the first type of command into a plurality of chunks based on a computed criteria;
- and
- execute a second type of command in between execution of at least two chunks of the first type of command.
4 more elements
A system, comprising:
- a solid state drive (SSD) comprising a plurality of non-volatile memory;
- a display;
- and
- a processor coupled to the SSD and the display, wherein the SSD is operable to:
- suspend a first type of command, in response to determining that a second type of command is waiting for execution;
- split the first type of command into a plurality of chunks based on a computed criteria;
- and
- execute a second type of command in between execution of at least two chunks of the first type of command.
