Information processing apparatus, image forming apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable medium

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• an image output unit that outputs an image onto a recording medium;
• an image reading unit that reads a document image;
• a display that displays a first screen including a plurality of first icons and a second icon, each of the plurality of first icons being a graphical representation associated with one of a plurality of functions implemented by using at least one of the image output unit and the image reading unit, the second icon being associated with an explanatory function explaining the plurality of functions, the display displaying a second screen in response to selection of the second icon on the first screen, the second screen including a plurality of third icons for providing explanatory information concerning at least some of the plurality of functions;
• a receiver that receives explanatory information concerning the plurality of functions;
• and
• a controller that controls, in response to the receiver receiving a new explanatory information item, the display to change a display style of a third icon related to the received new explanatory information item among the plurality of third icons on the second screen and not to change a display style of the second icon on the first screen.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program causing a computer to execute a process for information processing, the process comprising:

• displaying a first screen including a plurality of first icons and a second icon, each of the plurality of first icons being a graphical representation associated with one of a plurality of functions, the second icon being associated with an explanatory function explaining the plurality of functions;
• displaying a second screen in response to selection of the second icon on the first screen, the second screen including a plurality of third icons for providing explanatory information concerning at least some of the plurality of functions;
• receiving explanatory information concerning the plurality of functions;
• and
• performing control, in response to receipt of a new explanatory information item, to change a display style of a third icon related to the received new explanatory information item among the plurality of third icons on the second screen and not to change a display style of the second icon on the first screen.
