Abstract
Examples are disclosed that relate to mixed reality display devices. One example provides a head-mounted display device comprising, a display, a lens system, and a curved Fresnel combiner. The curved Fresnel combiner is configured to direct light received from the display via the lens system toward an eyebox, and is at least partially transmissive to background light.

A head-mounted display device, comprising:
- a display;
- a lens system;
- and
- a curved Fresnel combiner configured to direct light received from the display via the lens system toward an eyebox and being at least partially transmissive to background light.

A method of manufacturing a see-through display device, the method comprising:
- forming a first portion of a curved Fresnel combiner, the first portion comprising positive optical power;
- forming a reflective coating on a surface of the first portion;
- forming a second portion of the curved Fresnel combiner such that the reflective coating is located at an interface of the first portion of the curved Fresnel combiner and the second portion of the curved Fresnel combiner, the second portion comprising negative optical power;
- and
- arranging the Fresnel combiner in a display device.
