Measurement apparatus configured to control the on/off state of illumination source

A measurement apparatus that acquires measurement data by irradiating an object to be measured with a first light source, and detects, using a light detector, light reflected from the object, comprising:

• a control unit configured to control, on the basis of an acquisition time period of the measurement data, an on/off state of the first light source and a second light source that does not contribute to acquisition of measurement data, wherein, in response to a synchronization signal, the control unit:
• activates the first light source and deactivates the second light source when the measurement apparatus is in the acquisition time period of the measurement data;
• and
• deactivates the first light source and activates the second light source when the measurement apparatus is not in the acquisition time period of the measurement data.

A measurement device, comprising:

• a control unit configured to control an on/off state of illumination that does not contribute to acquisition of measurement data on the basis of an acquisition time period of the measurement data, wherein:
• the measurement apparatus acquires the measurement data by irradiating an object to be measured with a laser and detects, using a light detector, light reflected from the object;
• the control unit activates the irradiating of the object with the laser and deactivates the illumination when the measurement apparatus is in the acquisition time period of the measurement data;
• and
• the control unite deactivates the irradiating of the object with the laser and activates the illumination when the measurement apparatus is not in the acquisition time period of the measurement data.
