• wherein an image-side surface of the seventh lens element has at least one inflection point, a maximum refractive index among the first lens element, the second lens element, the third lens element, the fourth lens element, the fifth lens element, the sixth lens element and the seventh lens element is Nmax, a focal length of the first lens element is f1, a focal length of the second lens element is f2, a focal length of the third lens element is f3, a focal length of the fourth lens element is f4, a focal length of the fifth lens element is f5, a focal length of the sixth lens element is f6, a focal length of the seventh lens element is f7, a focal length of the i-th lens element is fi, and the following conditions are satisfied:
• 1.640≦Nmax<1.750;
• and
• |f1|<|fi|, wherein i=2,3,4,5,6,7.

A photographing optical lens assembly comprising seven lens elements, the seven lens elements being, in order from an object side to an image side, a first lens element, a second lens element, a third lens element, a fourth lens element, a fifth lens element, a sixth lens element and a seventh lens element;

• wherein the first lens element has positive refractive power, the seventh lens element has an image-side surface being concave in a paraxial region thereof, and the image-side surface of the seventh lens element has at least one inflection point;
• wherein there is a non-axial critical point on an image-side surface of the sixth lens element at which a tangent to the image-side surface of the sixth lens element is perpendicular to an optical axis, there is a non-axial critical point on the image-side surface of the seventh lens element at which a tangent to the image-side surface of the seventh lens element is perpendicular to the optical axis;
• wherein a maximum refractive index among the first lens element, the second lens element, the third lens element, the fourth lens element, the fifth lens element, the sixth lens element and the seventh lens element is Nmax, a vertical distance between the non-axial critical point on the image-side surface of the sixth lens element and the optical axis is Yc62, a vertical distance between the non-axial critical point on the image-side surface of the seventh lens element and the optical axis is Yc72, an Abbe number of the second lens element is V2, and the following conditions are satisfied:
• 1.640≦Nmax<1.750;
• 0.5<Yc62/Yc72<1.5;
• and
• V2≦23.3.

A photographing optical lens assembly comprising seven lens elements, the seven lens elements being, in order from an object side to an image side, a first lens element, a second lens element, a third lens element, a fourth lens element, a fifth lens element, a sixth lens element and a seventh lens element;

• wherein the third lens element has an image-side surface being concave in a paraxial region thereof, and an image-side surface of the seventh lens element has at least one inflection point;
• the photographing optical lens assembly further comprises an aperture stop disposed between an imaged object and the second lens element, and an absolute value of a focal length of the first lens element is smaller than an absolute value of a focal length of the seventh lens element;
• wherein a maximum refractive index among the first lens element, the second lens element, the third lens element, the fourth lens element, the fifth lens element, the sixth lens element and the seventh lens element is Nmax, and the following condition is satisfied:
• 1.640≦Nmax<1.750.
