Abstract
Sensor array noise reduction is provided. Techniques involve systems and methods for reducing sensor array noise by estimating an instantaneous frequency of a coherent noise signal in a logging system. The instantaneous frequency may be estimated based on a rotation of an electric motor in the logging system, or may estimated by applying suitable signal processing algorithms on measurements in the logging system. A virtual measurement may be computer using the instantaneous frequency. The virtual measurement may be demodulated to obtain a baseband signal, and noise may be removed from the baseband signal to obtain a denoised signal.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- a non-transitory tangible computer-readable memory coupled to the one or more processors and having executable computer code stored thereon, the code comprising a set of instructions that causes one or more processors to perform the following:
- estimate an instantaneous frequency based on a coherent noise measurement;
- generate a virtual measurement based on the instantaneous frequency;
- demodulate the virtual measurement to obtain a baseband signal;
- and
- remove noise from the baseband signal to obtain a denoised signal.
A method comprising:
- estimating an instantaneous frequency based on a coherent noise signal in a system;
- generating a virtual measurement based on the instantaneous frequency;
- demodulating the virtual measurement to obtain a baseband signal;
- and
- removing noise from the baseband signal to obtain a denoised signal.
