Abstract
Chemically defined culture medium and culture conditions that allow bacteria to assimilate dinitrogen gas (N2) as a nitrogen source during bio-ethanol production are disclosed herein. Methods of bioethanol production using the chemically defined culture medium and culture conditions are also disclosed.
Claims19
A chemically defined culture medium comprising iron and molybdenum.
A method of alcohol production, the method comprising:
- growing a bio-fuel producing microorganism in a chemically defined culture medium in the presence of a nitrogen source, wherein the chemically defined culture medium comprises iron and molybdenum and wherein the nitrogen source comprises N2 gas.
A method of alcohol production, the method comprising:
- growing a bio-fuel producing microorganism in a hydrolysate of a cellulosic feedstock in the presence of a nitrogen source, wherein the nitrogen source comprises N2 gas.
