Abstract
A lubricating composition includes an oil of lubricating viscosity and an N-substituted hydroxyaromatic succinimide or a salt thereof.
Claims46
A lubricating composition comprising:
- an oil of lubricating viscosity;
- and
- an N-substituted hydroxyaromatic succinimide or a salt thereof.
A hydroxyphenyl succinimide detergent comprising the reaction product of an aminophenol and at least one of the group consisting of C8-C30 alkyl-substituted acid anhydrides, C8-C30 alkenyl-substituted acid anhydrides, and amino substituted acid anhydrides comprising a C8-C30 alkyl substituted amino group, or a salt thereof.
