System for securing an aircraft door

A system, comprising:

• an actuation system that is configured to:
• detect an action at a door associated with an overwing exit at an exit row of an aircraft;
• and
• modify a seat in the exit row based on the detecting the action at the door, wherein the modifying the seat comprises at least one of:
• automatically deploying a latch in an armrest of the seat;
• automatically rotating a distal end of the armrest downward;
• and
• automatically moving the seat to increase a size of an egress path of the exit row.
