Abstract
A line-head-type inkjet image-forming method includes ejecting a gel ink to a recording medium at a first coverage rate that is less than 100% and set to allow dots of newly ejected gel ink to unite with dots of the gel ink already landed on the recording medium. The gel ink contains a specific amount of a polymer dispersant based on the amount of the colorant and has a specific contact angle on the recording medium. The gel ink is ejected from nozzles so as to form dots with a diameter slightly larger according to the resolution of the image to be formed.
Claims16
An inkjet image-forming method comprising:
- forming an image by ejecting a gel ink at a first coverage rate from a plurality of nozzles arranged along a first direction to a recording medium moving in a second direction crossing the first direction,
- the first coverage rate being less than 100% and set to allow dots of newly ejected gel ink to unite with dots of the gel ink already landed on the recording medium,
- the gel ink containing a crystalline gelling agent, a colorant, and a polymer dispersant,
- a content of the polymer dispersant in the gel ink being from more than 20% by mass to 70% by mass based on a weight of the colorant,
- the gel ink having a contact angle of 15 to 30° on the recording medium,
- the inkjet image-forming method satisfying the following formula:
- 2.7≦D/(2.54×104/R)≦3.5
- wherein R is a resolution (dpi) of the image to be formed, and D is a diameter (μm) of ink droplet dots landed on the recording medium.
