Abstract
Vaccine compositions that may be administered to a subject via the buccal and/or sublingual mucosa are provided. Methods for administration and preparation of such vaccine compositions are also provided.

An immunogenic composition comprising an amorphous, substantially solid film having an average thickness of 0.05 to 5 mm, which is soluble in an aqueous solution, said film comprising an antigen, a sugar and an amphipathic surfactant.
