Abstract
A tibial, prosthesis, and, particularly, a fixed bearing tibial, prosthesis has a two-pronged securement mechanism. The securement mechanism may or may not be angled. Advantageously, the securement mechanism, working alone or in cooperation with other securement features, minimizes micromotion between the tibial tray and tibial hearing component.

(canceled)
A tibial prosthesis, comprising:
- a tibial tray comprising:
- a support surface;
- and
- a peripheral wall disposed above the support surface, the peripheral wall including a two-pronged boss, wherein the two-pronged boss includes a medial pronged having a medially facing side and a laterally facing side, and a lateral pronged having a medially facing side and a laterally facing side, wherein the peripheral wall defines a tray undercut;
- and
- a bearing component comprising:
- an articulating surface;
- a distal surface opposing the articulating surface and configured to interface with the support surface;
- and
- a peripheral wall extending between the articulating surface and the distal surface, wherein one or more portions of at least one of the peripheral wall and the distal surface form a notch that defines a bearing undercut, wherein the bearing undercut is configured to cooperate with the tray undercut to retain the bearing component with the tibial tray.

- and
- wherein the tray undercut cooperates with the bearing undercut to define three interference fits, and wherein the bearing component is configured such that during the three interference fits a lateral compartment is slightly compressed in a medial-to-lateral direction, a medial compartment is slightly compressed in a lateral-to-medial direction and a two-pronged notch of the bearing component is compressed.
