System having a telecommunications element being concealed by a reflective structure comprising a polymer optical multilayer film

A system having a concealed communications element, the system comprising:

• a communications element, and
• a multilayer polymer optical film formed in a shape that at least partially surrounds the communications element and conceals it from view, the multilayer optical film comprising a core layer that comprises a multilayer optical stack comprising two alternating polymeric layers, wherein the multilayer polymer optical film further comprises a hardcoat positioned between a viewer looking at the system and the core layer the hardcoat comprising one or more UV absorbers, wherein the multilayer polymer optical film substantially reflects images of the surroundings of the system to a viewer that is looking at the system, and wherein the multilayer polymer optical film is greater than 90% transmissive of radio frequencies in the band that the communications elements receives and/or transmits.

A method of concealing an outdoor communications element comprising at least partially surrounding the outdoor communications element with a reflective multilayer optical film, such that the multilayer optical film conceals the outdoor communications element from viewers, and reflects ambient light towards viewers, the multilayer optical film comprising a core layer that comprises a multilayer optical stack comprising two alternating polymeric layers, and a UV stable protective layer.
