Car application interface

A method, comprising:

• receiving, on a mobile device, an application request in a first format compatible with an application encoding format from an application;
• transforming, on the mobile device, the application request into a second format compatible with a host car system;
• sending, in the mobile device, the application request in the second format to the host car system;
• receiving, in the mobile device, a car response from the host car system in the second format compatible with the host car system;
• transforming, in the mobile device, the car response into the first format compatible with the application encoding format;
• and
• sending, in the mobile device, the car response in the first format to the application.

A method, comprising:

• receiving a general application prepared for an application interface;
• notifying potential collaborators of the general application;
• receiving a signal of interest in the general application from a first collaborator;
• receiving modification requirements from the first collaborator;
• modifying the general application responsive to modification requirements of the first collaborator to create a first modified application;
• providing the first modified application to the first collaborator;
• receiving a signal of interest in the general application from a second collaborator;
• receiving modification requirements from the second collaborator;
• modifying the general application responsive to modification requirements of the second collaborator to create a second modified application;
• and
• providing the second modified application to the second collaborator.
