Abstract
A carburetor with a body with a cavity in which an adjustable fuel valve is received. To inhibit access to and manual adjustment of the valve, a cover may overlay at least a portion of the adjustable valve. In some forms, a releasable lock plate may be received between the cover and the adjustable valve. Specialty tools may release the lock plate and adjust the valve.
Claims16
A carburetor having a body, an adjustable valve received within a cavity of the carburetor body and a cover overlying at least part of the cavity to inhibit access to the adjustable valve and inhibit manual adjustment of the adjustable valve.
A tool for releasing a latch of a locking plate carried by a carburetor body having at least one adjustable valve received in a cavity of the carburetor body, a cover overlying at least part of the cavity and having a hole through which access to the valve for adjusting it may be obtained and a locking plate overlying the adjustable valve and received between the adjustable valve and the cover and movable from a first position permitting access to the adjustable valve to a second position inhibiting or preventing access to the adjustable valve, the tool comprising:
- a driver having a non-circular portion insertable through a hole in the cover plate and into a complimentary receiver in the locking plate for rotation of the driver to move the locking plate from its second position toward its first position;
- and
- at least one finger insertable through an access hole in the cover plate and movable to release the latch so that the locking plate may be moved from its second position toward its first position.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
