Systems and Methods for Variable Water Injection Flow Control

A gas turbine system comprising:

• a combustion section;
• a water injection valve coupled to the combustion section;
• and
• at least one processor communicatively coupled to the combustion section and the water injection valve and configured to:
• receive a water injection flow reference comprising one or more conditions of the gas turbine system;
• receive water injection flow data from a sensor monitoring the gas turbine system;
• calculate a water injection flow rate value that characterizes one or more conditions based at least in part on the water injection flow reference and the water injection flow data;
• and
• adjust a water injection flow rate of the gas turbine system to the calculated water injection flow rate value.

A non-transitory computer readable medium including instructions stored thereon, which when executed by one or more processor(s), cause the device to perform operations of:

• receiving a water injection flow reference comprising one or more conditions of a system;
• receiving water injection flow data from a sensor monitoring the system;
• calculating a water injection flow rate value that characterizes one or more conditions based at least in part on the water injection flow reference and the water injection flow data;
• and
• adjusting a water injection flow rate of the system to the calculated water injection flow rate value.
