Device-to-device resource pattern signaling

A method by a first communication device for device-to-device, D2D, communications with a second communication device, the method comprising:

• obtaining information on duplex configuration of a radio network node that may affect resource allocation by the first communication device for D2D communication with the second communication device;
• deriving a set of resource patterns, RPTs, based on the information;
• selecting one RPT among the set of RPTs based on scheduler information;
• and
• signaling an index that is used to identify the selected RPT to the second communication device.

A method by a first communication device for device-to-device, D2D, communications with a second communication device, the method comprising:

• obtaining information on duplex configuration of a radio network node that may affect D2D resource use by the first communication device to receive D2D communications from the second communication device;
• deriving a set of resource patterns, RPTs, based on the information;
• receiving an index signaled by the second communication device;
• selecting one RPT among the set of RPTs based on the index;
• and
• deriving resources to be used for D2D reception from the second communication device based on the selected RPT.
