Methods and Systems for In-Device Interference Mitigation

A method for mitigating interference between radio access technology (RAT) components in a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:

• detecting, at the WTRU, an in-device interference situation between a first RAT component and a second RAT component of the WTRU, wherein the second RAT component is a long term evolution (LTE) component;
• determining, at the WTRU, one or more frequencies at which at least one of the first or second RAT component is a victim of the in-device interference situation;
• sending, from the WTRU, a notification of the detected in-device interference situation to an LTE network, wherein the notification comprises information for assisting with the detected in-device interference situation, the information indicating which of the first and/or second RAT component is a victim of the in-device interference situation and indicating the one or more frequencies at which the victim is interfered;
• and
• receiving, from the LTE network, an indication of a change in a frequency of operation of the second RAT component based on sending the notification of the detected in-device interference situation.

A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) comprising:

• a processor configured to:
• detect, at the WTRU, an in-device interference situation between a first radio access technology (RAT) component and a second RAT component of the WTRU, wherein the second RAT component is a long term evolution (LTE) component;
• determine, at the WTRU, one or more frequencies at which at least one of the first or second RAT component is a victim of the in-device interference situation;
• send, from the WTRU, a notification of the detected in-device interference situation to an LTE network, wherein the notification comprises information for assisting with the detected in-device interference situation, the information indicating which of the first and/or second RAT component is a victim of the in-device interference situation and indicating the one or more frequencies at which the victim is interfered;
• and
• receive, from the LTE network, an indication of a change in a frequency of operation of the second RAT component based on sending the notification of the detected in-device interference situation.
