Intelligent analytics virtual network orchestration system and method

A method, comprising:

• detecting, by a system comprising a processing system including a processor, a request for a communication service between a first equipment item and a second equipment item, wherein the first equipment item comprises a wireless mobile device;
• identifying, by the system, a network path between the first equipment item and the second equipment item, wherein the network path is realized by equipment performing a plurality of network functions;
• associating, by the system, a first network function of the plurality of network functions with a first plurality of redundant virtualized network resources performing at least a similar network function as the first network function;
• determining, by the system, usage metrics corresponding to the first plurality of redundant virtualized network resources;
• and
• assigning, by the system, a first virtualized network resource of the first plurality of redundant virtualized network resources to the network path based on the usage metrics to obtain a first assigned virtualized network resource, wherein the communication service is provided between the first equipment item and the second equipment item using the first assigned virtualized network resource.

A machine-readable storage medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:

• detecting a request for a network service between two network nodes;
• identifying a network path between the two network nodes, wherein the network path is realized by equipment performing a plurality of network functions;
• associating a first network function of the plurality of network functions with a first plurality of redundant virtualized network resources performing at least a similar network function as the first network function;
• determining usage metrics corresponding to the first plurality of redundant virtualized network resources;
• and
• assigning a first virtualized network resource of the first plurality of redundant virtualized network resources to the network path based on the usage metrics to obtain a first assigned virtualized network resource, wherein the network service is provided between the two network nodes using the first assigned virtualized network resource.
