Method and system for cost sharing in a pooled vehicle

A computer program product for use with a computer, the computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer readable medium, wherein the non-transitory computer readable medium stores a computer program code for cost sharing in a pooled vehicle, wherein the computer program code is executable by one or more processors of a computing device to:

• operate one or more transceivers to receive a detour distance to be traversed by the pooled vehicle to process a travel request, wherein the detour distance is determined by one or more sensors in the pooled vehicle;
• and
• determine a first cost to be compensated to at least one first commuter in the pooled vehicle based on the received detour distance, wherein the first cost is incurred by a second commuter associated with the travel request.
