Abstract
User-friendly attachment mechanisms for pen needles provide improved handling and ease of use, including locking installation and removal features and sensory feedback when a needle-bearing hub is seated on a pen.
Claims18
A pen needle, comprising:
- a needle-bearing hub having threads for attachment to a medication delivery device, a patient-facing surface at a distal end of said hub, an inner face opposite said patient-facing surface, and an elongated post extending from said inner face into a cavity of said needle-bearing hub and supporting said needle of said needle-bearing hub in said cavity.
A pen needle, comprising
- a needle-bearing hub having a side wall with an inner surface having threads for attachment to a medication delivery device;
- and
- an outer cover received over said hub covering the needle and a plurality of axially extending ribs having first surfaces facing radially inward toward said hub, and second surfaces facing axially toward a proximal end of said cover.
