Enhanced Guided Active Compression Decompression Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Systems and Methods

A system for applying guided active compression decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation to an individual in need of emergency assistance, the system comprising:

• a compression element adapted to be pressed and lifted by an operator;
• a flexible surface element operably coupled with the compression element and configured to contact the chest of the individual in need of emergency assistance;
• at least one sensor associated with at least one of the compression element and the flexible surface element for measuring one or more parameters during administration of active compression decompressions to the individual in need of emergency assistance;
• an operator interface having a graphical display that provides guidance for the operator to administer quality active compression decompressions;
• and
• at least one processor operably coupled with the operator interface, the at least one processor configured to:
• receive and analyze signals representing the one or more measured parameters from the at least one sensor during the administration of active compression decompression to the individual in need of emergency assistance, and
• control the operator interface to provide real-time feedback on the graphical display for the operator to improve the effectiveness of active compression decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the real-time feedback including a graphical representation of compression and decompression force or depth applied to the individual and a visual indication in the graphical display of whether the applied active compression decompression force or depth is within a target range or outside of the target range.
