Abstract
The present invention relates to a device, system and a method for high pressure shockwave treatment of biological tissue having a large treatment zone and in particular to such a device, system and method in which a large biological treatment area in treated in a non-drug, non-surgical treatment protocol utilizing ballistic shockwave generating device.

A ballistic shockwave system (100) including a ballistic shockwave device (101) configured to generate a ballistic collision between a projectile (105) and a shockwave generating portion (110) using a high pressure gaseous source having operating pressure of up to about 200 bar;
- the shockwave generating portion (110) is functionally coupled to shockwave shaping portion (120) that is provided to direct the generated shockwaves to a targeted tissue treatment site, the system characterized in that said shaping portion (120) comprising an external shaping surface (120s) formed from a plurality of concave focal surface depressions (120n) along said external shaping surface (120s), wherein each of said concave focal surface depressions(120n) is individually configurable according to a diameter (120r) and depth (120h), and wherein said configurable diameter and depth provide determining the focal length and penetration depth of the propagated shockwave.
