Abstract
Provided is a composition for the preservation of wood and other cellulosic materials. The composition comprises a dispersion of micronized inorganic compounds and/or organic biocides in an organic carrier. Also provided is a method for making the composition.
Claims20
A wood preservative composition comprising:
- (a) an inorganic compound component selected from the group consisting of a metal, metal compound and combinations thereof, and/or an organic biocide component;
- and
- (b) a liquid organic component;
- wherein the inorganic compound component and/or organic biocide component in a) comprise a dispersion of particles in the liquid organic component, and wherein greater than 80 wt percent of the particles are micronized.
