Automatic notification providing sleep state protection for an unattended computing device

A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform a method comprising:

• storing a wireless communication address of a second mobile computing device;
• determining that the first mobile computing device has left a sleep state and is in a closed condition;
• and
• automatically wirelessly transmitting a notification to the second mobile computing device in response to determining that the first mobile computing device has left the sleep state and is in a closed condition.

An apparatus, comprising:

• a first mobile computing device including at least one storage device for storing program instructions and at least one processor for processing the program instructions to:
• store a wireless communication address of a second mobile computing device;
• determine that the first mobile computing device has left a sleep state and is in a closed condition;
• and
• automatically wirelessly transmit a notification to the second mobile computing device in response to determining that the first mobile computing device has left the sleep state and is in a closed condition.
