Dynamic content check interval for multicast devices

A non-transitory, computer readable medium storing a plurality of processor-executable instructions, wherein executing the processor-executable instructions causes one or more processors to:

• periodically communicate, in accordance with a first content check interval, with a wireless telecommunications network to check for updates to media content available via multicast transmission from the wireless telecommunications network;
• monitor one or more conditions relating to user equipment (UE);
• determine a second content check interval based on the one or more conditions;
• update the first content check interval with the second content check interval;
• and
• periodically communicate, in accordance with the second content check interval, with the wireless telecommunications network to check for updates to media content available via multicast transmissions from the wireless telecommunications network.

A method, comprising:

• periodically communicating, by a user equipment (UE) and in accordance with a first content check interval, with a wireless telecommunications network to check for updates to media content available via multicast transmission from the wireless telecommunications network;
• monitoring, by the UE, one or more conditions relating to the UE;
• determining a second content check interval based on the one or more conditions;
• updating, by the UE, the first content check interval with the second content check interval;
• and
• periodically communicating, by the UE and in accordance with the second content check interval, with the wireless telecommunications network to check for updates to media content available via multicast transmissions from the wireless telecommunications network.
