Abstract
To automate establishment of an ad hoc connection between a user apparatus and a device, username-password pairs and identifying information-code pairs are maintained in a database server, and the user apparatus sends an inquiry comprising identifying information of the device and a username and a password of a user of the user apparatus, and receives in a response a code for establishing the ad hoc connection.
Claims21
A computerized method for pairing a first device and a user apparatus comprising:
- receiving, by the user apparatus, identifying information from the first device in a discoverable mode;
- causing, by the user apparatus, sending an inquiry to a database server, the inquiry comprising the identifying information and a username and a password of a user of the user apparatus;
- receiving, by the user apparatus, in a response to the inquiry, a code;
- and
- causing, by the user apparatus, sending the code received in the response to the first device during a two-way ad hoc connection pairing to the first device.
The computerized method as claimed in claim 5, wherein the code is a PIN code or a passkey for Bluetooth pairing.
A computerized method for pairing wireless devices comprising:
- maintaining, by a database service including a memory, username-password pairs and identifying information-code pairs;
- receiving, by the database server, an inquiry comprising identifying information, a username and a password;
- searching, by the database server, from the memory a username-password pair that matches to the received username and password;
- retrieving, by the database server, in response to a matching username-password pair being found, at least a code that is associated with the received identifying information;
- and
- causing sending at least the code in a response to the inquiry.
A wireless computing device comprising:
- a processing device:
- a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by the processing device, cause the computing device to:
- send, in response to receiving identifying information from a first device in a discoverable mode, an inquiry to a database server, the inquiry comprising the identifying information and a username and a password of a user of the computing device;
- receive a code from the database server transmitted in response to the inquiry;
- and
- send the code to the first device during a two-way ad hoc connection pairing with the first device.
A database server comprising:
- a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to:
- search, in response to a received inquiry comprising identifying information, a username and a password, from a memory comprising username-password pairs and identifying information-code pairs, a username-password pair that matches to the received username and password;
- retrieve, in response to a matching username-password pair being found, at least a code that is associated with the received identifying information;
- and
- send at least the code in a response to the inquiry.
A user apparatus comprising:
- at least one processor, and
- at least one memory comprising a computer program code, wherein the processor, the memory, and the computer program code are configured to cause the user apparatus to:
- send, in response to receiving identifying information from a first device in a discoverable mode, an inquiry to a database server, the inquiry comprising the identifying information and a username and a password of a user of the computing device;
- and
- send, in response to receiving a code in a response to the inquiry, the code received in the response to the first device during a two-way ad hoc connection pairing to the first device.
A database server comprising:
- at least one processor, and
- at least one memory comprising a computer readable program code, wherein the processor, the memory, and the computer program code are configured to cause the network node to:
- maintain in a memory username-password pairs and identifying information-code pairs;
- search, in response to a received inquiry comprising identifying information, a username and a password, from the memory, a username-password pair that matches to the received username and password;
- retrieve, in response to a matching username-password pair being found, at least a code that is associated with the received identifying information;
- and
- send at least the code in a response to the inquiry.
A system comprising:
- a user apparatus configured to send, in response to receiving identifying information from a first device in a discoverable mode, an inquiry to a database server, the inquiry comprising the identifying information and a username and a password of a user of the computing device, and to send, in response to receiving a code in a response to the inquiry, the code received in the response to the first device during a two-way ad hoc connection pairing to the first device;
- a database server configured to maintain in a memory username-password pairs and identifying information-code pairs, to search, in response to a received inquiry comprising identifying information, a username and a password, from the memory, a username-password pair that matches to the received username and password, to retrieve, in response to a matching username-password pair being found, at least a code that is associated with the received identifying information, and to send at least the code in a response to the inquiry;
- one or more communications networks between the user apparatus and the database server;
- a local connection network;
- one or more first devices, each first device being configured to receive in a discoverable mode, over the local connection network, during a two-way ad hoc connection pairing, a code from the user apparatus, compare the received code with a code stored to the first apparatus, and in response to the received code being the same as the stored code cause the two-way ad hoc connection to be established to the user apparatus.
