Abstract
An apparatus and method for crosstalk compensation in a jack of a modular communications connector includes a flexible printed circuit board connected to jack contacts and to connections to a network cable. The flexible printed circuit board includes conductive traces arranged as one or more couplings to provide crosstalk compensation.
Claims2
A communication jack for interfacing with a communication plug comprising:
- a housing;
- a plurality of conductors for interfacing with plug contacts of a communication plug contained within the housing;
- a plurality of insulation displacement contacts (IDCs) for connecting the jack to a communication cable with a plurality of twisted wire pairs;
- a flexible printed circuit board having traces which are used to electrically connect the plurality of conductors to the IDCs and further has traces configured to compensate for crosstalk between signal pairs.
