Ultrasound imaging system touch panel cluster control interaction

An ultrasound imaging system, comprising:

• a touch screen user interface of the ultrasound imaging system, the touch screen user interface including a touch panel;
• and
• a touch screen controller of the ultrasound imaging system configured to display a plurality of different clusters of controls in one of a plurality of different configurations depending on a presently active control of the controls.

A touch screen user interface, comprising:

• a touch panel with an active region configured to visually display different clusters of touch sensitive controls, each cluster controlling different ultrasound imaging operations of the ultrasound imaging system, wherein a control of the active region generates a control single for an ultrasound imaging operation in response to invocation of the control;
• and
• a touch screen controller of the ultrasound imaging system configured to display the different clusters of touch sensitive controls on the active region in one of a plurality of different configurations in response to a signal from a currently employed control.
