Cartridge, photosensitive member unit and electrophotographic image forming apparatus

A photosensitive member unit dismountable from a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus including a rotatable main assembly side engaging portion, the photosensitive member unit comprising:

• i) a photosensitive member having a rotational axis extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the dismounting direction of the photosensitive member unit;
• and
• ii) a coupling member provided at one end portion of the photosensitive member to transmit a rotational force to the photosensitive member from the main assembly engaging portion, the coupling member being movable between a first position in which a rotational axis of the coupling member is substantially aligned with the rotational axis of the photosensitive member, and a second position in which the rotational axis of the coupling member is substantially parallel with the rotational axis of the photosensitive member and in which the coupling member is displaced from the first position toward the other end portion of the photosensitive member in a direction of the rotational axis of the photosensitive member.

A cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the cartridge comprising:

• i) a rotatable member capable of carrying developer;
• and
• ii) a coupling member provided at one end portion of the cartridge with respect to a rotational axis direction of the rotatable member to transmit a rotational force to the rotatable member, the coupling member and being movable between a first position in which a rotational axis of the coupling member is substantially parallel with the rotational axis of the rotatable member, and a second position in which the rotational axis of the coupling member is substantially parallel with the rotational axis of the rotatable member and in which the coupling member is displaced from the first position in a direction substantially perpendicular to the rotational axis of the rotatable member and is displaced from the first position in a direction of the rotational axis of the rotatable member toward the other end portion of the cartridge.

A photosensitive member unit usable with a process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the photosensitive member unit comprising:

• i) a photosensitive member;
• and
• ii) a coupling member provided at one longitudinal end of the photosensitive member to transmit a rotational force to the photosensitive member, the coupling member being movable between a first position in which a rotational axis of the photosensitive member is substantially aligned with a rotational axis of the coupling member and a second position in which the rotational axis of the photosensitive member and the rotational axis of the coupling member are spaced from each other and substantially parallel with each other and in which the coupling member is displaced from the first position toward the other longitudinal end of the photosensitive member.

A cartridge mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus including a rotatable main assembly side engaging portion, the cartridge comprising:

• i) a rotatable member capable of carrying developer and having a rotational axis extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to a mounting direction of the cartridge;
• and
• ii) a coupling member provided at one end portion of the cartridge with respect to the rotational axis to transmit a rotational force from the main assembly engaging portion to the rotatable member, the coupling member being movable between a first position in which a rotational axis of the coupling member is substantially parallel with the rotational axis of the rotatable member, and a second position in which the rotational axis of the coupling member is substantially parallel with the rotational axis of the rotatable member and in which the coupling member is displaced from the first position in a direction perpendicular to the rotational axis of the rotatable member and is displaced from the first position in a direction of the rotational axis of the rotatable member toward the other end portion of the cartridge.

A photosensitive member unit mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus including a rotatable main assembly side engaging portion, the photosensitive member unit comprising:

• i) a photosensitive member having a rotational axis substantially perpendicular to a mounting direction of the photosensitive member unit;
• and
• ii) a coupling member provided at one end portion of the photosensitive member to transmit a rotational force to the photosensitive member from the main assembly engaging portion, the coupling member being movable between a first position in which a rotational axis of the coupling member is substantially aligned with the rotational axis of the photosensitive member, and a second position in which the rotational axis of the coupling member is substantially parallel with the rotational axis of the photosensitive member and in which the coupling member is displaced from the first position toward the other end portion of the photosensitive member in a direction of the rotational axis of the photosensitive member.
