A display device including a backlight unit and a display panel disposed on the backlight unit, wherein the backlight unit includes: a light source unit; and an optical unit, which is disposed between the light source unit and the display panel and includes an organic phosphor layer, the organic phosphor layer including an organic phosphor and a resin in which the organic phosphor is provided, and at least one face of the organic phosphor layer is exposed to air.

A display device comprising,
- a backlight unit;
- and
- a display panel disposed on the backlight unit, wherein the backlight unit comprises:
- a light source unit;
- and
- an optical unit, which is disposed between the light source unit and the display panel and comprises an organic phosphor layer,
- wherein the organic phosphor layer comprises an organic phosphor and a resin in which the organic phosphor is provided, and at least one face of the organic phosphor layer is exposed to air.
