Abstract
Detection system comprising an examination region, a one-piece optical element including a focusing portion to concentrate light received from the examination region and a guiding portion to homogenize light received from the focusing portion, and a detector configured to detect homogenized light received from the guiding portion.
Claims19
A detection system, comprising:
- an examination region;
- a one-piece optical element including a focusing portion to concentrate light received from the examination region and a guiding portion to homogenize concentrated light received from the focusing portion, wherein the guiding portion has a light entrance and a light exit having respective sizes that match one another, wherein the light entrance is formed at a junction of the focusing portion and the guiding portion, wherein the focusing portion is configured to refractively focus light into a spot at the light entrance, and wherein the focused light propagates through the guiding portion from the light entrance to the light exit by total internal reflection;
- and
- a detector configured to detect homogenized light received from the guiding portion.
