Abstract
The present invention provides methods in the context of Kawasaki disease including measuring the level of at least one of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4 in a sample derived from a subject.
Claims17
A method detecting a level of at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4, the method comprising
- measuring the level of the at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4 in a sample, and
- comparing the level of the at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4 measured in the sample to a control sample of the at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4 obtained from a patient suffering from Kawasaki disease, a control sample of the at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4 obtained from a patient not suffering from Kawasaki disease, or a combination of control samples thereof.
A method detecting a level of at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4, the method comprising
- comparing the level of the at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4 measured in a sample to a control sample of the at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4 obtained from a patient suffering from Kawasaki disease, a control sample of the at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4 obtained from a patient not suffering from Kawasaki disease, or a combination of control samples thereof.
A method of treating Kawasaki disease, comprising treating a subject in need thereof with a Kawasaki disease treatment, the subject having been identified as in need thereof by a method of diagnosing Kawasaki disease comprising measuring a level of at least one component selected from the group consisting of lipopolysaccharide binding protein, leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein, angiotensinogen and retinol binding protein 4.
