Single Piece Valve Plate Assembly For A Reciprocating Compressor

A compressor assembly, comprising:

• a compressor housing defining a cylinder, a suction valve seat disposed about a central longitudinal axis of the cylinder, a first mounting surface, and a second mounting surface that is different than the first mounting surface;
• a valve plate configured to mount to the second mounting surface of the compressor housing and to separate suction-pressure working fluid entering a cylinder of the compressor from discharge-pressure working fluid exiting the cylinder of the compressor, the valve plate defining a discharge valve seat;
• and
• a suction valve retainer configured to mount to the first mounting surface of the compressor housing and to retain a suction valve within the suction valve seat of the compressor housing.

A compressor assembly, comprising:

• a compressor housing defining a cylinder, a suction valve seat disposed about a central longitudinal axis of the cylinder, and a mounting surface;
• a valve plate configured to mount to the mounting surface of the compressor housing and to separate suction-pressure working fluid entering a cylinder of the compressor from discharge-pressure working fluid exiting the cylinder of the compressor, the valve plate defining a discharge valve seat;
• and
• a suction valve retainer configured to mount to the mounting surface of the compressor housing and to retain a suction valve within the suction valve seat of the compressor housing, wherein the valve plate and the suction valve retainer are integrally formed as a unitary body.
