Abstract
An impingement manifold includes a fluid inlet passage and a pressurized chamber. The pressurized chamber includes at least one lobe. The at least one lobe includes a flow improving feature configured to minimize vorticity of a flow field within the pressurized chamber, and at least one flow outlet.
Claims20
An impingement manifold comprising:
- a fluid inlet passage;
- a pressurized chamber including at least one lobe, the at least one lobe including a flow improving feature configured to minimize vorticity of a flow field within the pressurized chamber;
- and
- at least one flow outlet.

A method for providing a cooling flow to an aircraft component comprising:
- passing a cooling flow through a manifold including a pressurized chamber having at least one lobe including a flow improving feature configured to minimize vorticity of a flow field within the pressurized chamber.
A gas turbine engine comprising:
- a compressor section partially defining a primary flowpath;
- a combustor section fluidly connected to the compressor section and partially defining the primary flowpath;
- a turbine section fluidly connected to the combustor section and partially defining the primary flowpath;
- and
- a fluid manifold including a continuous interior surface.
