Green synthesis of graphene by using tomato juice

A method comprising:

• forming a suspension comprising graphene oxide, graphite oxide, or both, and a solvent or forming a suspension comprising the product of oxidation of graphite;
• adding fresh tomato juice to the suspension;
• exfoliating the graphite, graphite oxide, or both;
• after exfoliation, allowing the suspension to sit quiescently for a time period at a temperature in the range of about 18 C to about 25 C to allow the graphene oxide, graphite oxide, or both to be at least partially reduced to graphene;
• after the time period, separating the solids from the suspension.
