Abstract
The invention provides a composition comprising glucomannan, carrageenan, xanthan gum and a monovalent or divalent cation salt. The composition is suitable for use in managing weight, combating obesity, combating metabolic syndrome, promoting satiety, reducing appetite, combating diabetes, lowering blood cholesterol, lowering blood pressure, reducing postpranial glycaemia, or increasing insulin sensitivity.

A composition comprising:
- glucomannan;
- carrageenan;
- xanthan gum;
- and
- a monovalent or divalent cation salt.
The composition according to any of claims 1-6, wherein the monovalent or divalent cation salt is a water-soluble potassium salt.
A composition comprising:
- glucomannan;
- carrageenan;
- xanthan gum;
- and
- a monovalent or divalent cation salt, for use in promoting satiety, reducing appetite, managing weight, combating obesity, managing blood glucose level, combating diabetes, lowering blood cholesterol, or combating metabolic syndrome.
Use of a composition comprising:
- glucomannan;
- carrageenan;
- xanthan gum;
- and
- a monovalent or divalent cation salt,
- in the manufacture of a medicament for promoting satiety, reducing appetite, managing weight, combating obesity, managing blood glucose level, combating diabetes, lowering blood cholesterol, or combating metabolic syndrome.
A method of promoting satiety, reducing appetite, managing weight, combating obesity, managing blood glucose level, combating diabetes, lowering blood cholesterol, or combating metabolic syndrome, the method comprising administering to a subject a composition comprising glucomannan;
- carrageenan;
- xanthan gum;
- and a monovalent or divalent cation salt.
