Abstract
Provided are methods for treating a NAD comprising administering to a patient suffering from a NAD an inhibitor of NMD and a nonsense suppressor, whereby degradation of NMD susceptible mRNA is decreased and translation termination at a misplaced nonsense codon is blocked.
Claims26
A method for treating a NAD in a patient or controlling expression of NAD-causing proteins in a cell culture, the method comprising administering to the patient suffering from a NAD or treating the cell culture with:
- 1) an inhibitor of NMD;
- and
- 2) a nonsense suppressor;
- whereby degradation of NMD-susceptible mRNA is decreased and translation termination at a misplaced nonsense codon is blocked.
