Abstract
Atropisomers of 2-(5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropyl naphthalen-1-yl)-4H- 1,2,4-triazol-3-ylthio)acetic acid are described. Pharmaceutical compositions and the uses of such compounds, compound forms, and compositions for the treatment of a variety of diseases and conditions are also presented.

(+)-2-((5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropylnaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetic acid.
(−)-2-((5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropylnaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetic acid.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising either:
- i. (+)-2-((5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropylnaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- or
- ii. (−)-2-((5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropylnaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- or
- iii. a mixture enriched in one atropisomer of 2-((5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropylnaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl(thio)acetic acid;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- and
- a pharmacologically acceptable carrier, diluent, or excipient.

A method of treating hyperuricemia associated with gout in a human;
- comprising administering to the human a therapeutically effective amount of:
- i. (+)-2-((5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropylnaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- or
- ii. (−)-2-((5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropylnaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- or
- iii. a mixture enriched in one atropisomer of 2-((5-bromo-4-(4-cyclopropylnaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
