Abstract
A preassembled parallel wire cable creates a random cast of loops. Any of the random cast of loops is hung for transport, thus eliminating costly and time-consuming coiling and reeling operations.
Claims19
A method, comprising:
- individually tensioning each metallic wire in a plurality of metallic wires preassembled in a bundle as a parallel wire structural cable;
- releasing the tensioning of the each metallic wire in the plurality of metallic wires to produce a random cast of loops in the parallel wire structural cable;
- and
- hanging the random cast of loops in the parallel wire structural cable unreeled on a rack for transport.

An apparatus, comprising:
- a preassembled parallel wire structural cable having a plurality of metallic wires arranged in a bundle, the plurality of metallic wires having a memory cast that causes a random cast of loops in the preassembled parallel wire structural cable;
- and
- a rack from which the random cast of loops hang;
- wherein the apparatus allows transportation of the preassembled parallel wire structural cable without reeling.
1 more element
A method, comprising:
- receiving a rack from which a preassembled parallel wire structural cable having a random cast of loops hangs, the preassembled parallel wire structural cable having a plurality of metallic wires arranged in a bundle, the plurality of metallic wires having a memory causing the random cast of loops;
- and
- transporting the rack from a location to another location;
- wherein the preassembled parallel wire structural cable is transported unreeled.
